In 2007, the people of Copenhagen bid farewell to the old
S-trains, which for three decades provided public transport and
a rolling gallery for several generations of graffi ti writers. This book is about the writers and their relationship with the trains.
It is a widely held belief that the writers are driven solely by a
pubescent, destructive impulse, and that their artistic endeavours are random acts of rebellion by an alienated youth. These factors form part of the equation, but, as seen in this book, there are numerous others.
Graffi ti is as much a battle for as against something, and despite commercialization and heavy resistance, it continues to
thrive and has long ago.
